01. Prompt

I prompted ChatGPT to generate some fake design briefs and copy to practise my design skills.

Title: “Tech Innovators’ Symposium”
Target Audience: Technology professionals, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
Purpose: To create a platform for knowledge sharing and networking.

02. Background

I used to search for prompts in the art and design community for my own practice prior to the use of AI tools. Before the use of AI tools, most of the fake briefs were not descriptive enough. However, AI tools such as ChatGPT became more mainstream, and it did generate relevant info to work on.

03. Design Solutions

I took the liberty to change the title for this flyer. The original title in the brief was ‘Tech Innovators’ Symposium’. Since tech is a broad term, I decided to focus on current tech talk, which is Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The brief stated that the look and feel was ‘Futuristic, clean, tech-savvy, with a focus on innovation and cutting-edge technology.’ I decided to use the standard colours used for tech flyers, which is dark blue and purple, with turquoise and orange as highlight colours.

I decided to generate an header image of two heads facing each other using Bing AI. On the left, there is a droid head to represent AI, and on the right is a human head representing the humankind. The reason why I generated this image because humans are using AI to simplify our tasks.

As I did not want to use Lorem Ipsum as body text, I generated the session topics, the AI fictional positions, and the description of the symposium.

04. Challenges

It was challenging to find suitable colour palettes for a tech flyer. Most tech flyers are in darker colours, which is familiar. Sometimes the question is whether I should design something that is easily identifiable by tech people or going an entirely different design route. As I looked back at my target audience which are the industry, I decided to choose the safer colour palette. Perhaps, if this was a tech symposium for children, I would experiment further.

Also, I did not know how to reduce the words for the flyer. Admittedly, I was loving the text that was generated by Claude.ai, and I was concerned it might lose the meaning if I edit them.

05. Final Thoughts

Overall, I think it does give the tech feel, but I need to reduce the words on the flyer in the future.
