02. Background
I used to search for prompts in the art and design community for my own practice prior to the use of AI tools. Before the use of AI tools, most of the fake briefs were not descriptive enough. However, AI tools such as ChatGPT became more mainstream, and it did generate relevant info to work on.

03. Design Solutions
Malaysia is a multicultural country, and there are elements that define us. When the look and feel mentioned the word ‘cultural elements’, I had to think what food element unites us and I realised it is the banana leaf. We often wrap and eat our food with banana leaves because it adds fragrance to the food. It is also an eco-friendly alternative to plastic packaging.
In addition to that, I wanted to capture Malaysians love of food. Food is often part of the conversation, and also it is part of bonding with one another. Though it is a culinary festival, I imagined people of different ages and ethnicities sitting together with various food while having fun. Hence, I made the banana leaf the major highlight of the design with all the other foods on top of the leaf.
The food, rattan mat and banana leaf is generated using Midjourney, and I create the layout using Affinity Designer.
04. Challenges
It was hard finding nicely edited Malaysian food on free stock images site. I would one day redo this flyer with actual images one day because images generated by AI has this extra glossy sheen to it.
With actual images, it will look more realistic and relatable.
05. Final Thoughts
I am happy with the outcome for a flyer though I can fix it further. The purpose of this is better done than perfect.
